Suspension of pension reform: who is concerned?

The 2026 Social Security Financing Law introduces significant adjustments on the suspension of the pension reform. Public Service explains what will change from 1er September 2026.

The increase in the statutory retirement age and the increase in the duration of insurance introduced by the 2023 pension reform are suspended until 2028.

The legal age at 64 years will no longer apply to persons born in 1968, but only for persons born from 1969. The legal age varies according to your year of birth, it is set between 62 years and 9 months and 63 years and 9 months for the generations 1964 to 1968.

The suspension also applies to long careers for persons whose date of birth is between 1964 and 1968.

If you started working before the age of 16, 18, 20 or 21, early departure for a long career is relaxed during the suspension.

Your early departure age will be calculated based on your starting age.
