The amount of the minimum probationary allowance will increase

You are a student or student and your internship in a professional environment lasts more than 2 months (consecutive or not). You should know that it is possible, during the same school or university year, to benefit from a monthly gratuity. Its minimum amount is set at 15% of the social security hourly limit. The minimum reward for trainees goes from €4.35 to €4.50 per hour, or 15 % of the hourly limit of the Social Security, in accordance with Article L 124-6 of the Education Code.

As an intern, your employer must pay you a minimum hourly bonus if you are present in the host organization more than 308 hours in the same teaching year.

In some professional sectors, this amount may be higher than the legal minimum amount. Remember to check your collective agreement.

From 1er january 2026, the hourly ceiling of social security increases from €29 to €30 The amount of the minimum gratuity will therefore be €4.50 per hour (€30 X 15%) as shown in the table below:

Please note

The Social Security ceiling is revised every year at 1er January.

If this change takes place during the internship (e.g. for an internship scheduled between 1er December and 15 February), the internship agreement must explicitly provide for the revaluation of the reward from the change.
