Simplify your civil procedures with the justice.fr application

It is now possible to take legal action via the application justice.fr.

This application designed by the Ministry of Justice provides information about your rights, informs you about the courts or about the professionals you can turn to.

It now makes it possible to carry out certain legal procedures online. The procedure must not require the presence of a lawyer. On justice.fr, you will be able to join all the necessary parts via a secure personal space and follow the progress of your request. Your procedures are secure thanks to the FranceConnect connection.

This change eliminates postal costs, delays in the delivery of documents and travel to the court to follow up on its case.

Which legal procedures are concerned?

With this new application, you have the possibility to:

1. From you become a civil party, if you are recognized as a victim in a proceeding and if you have received a notice from the court. This is the most widely used approach. For example, if you have been the victim of a theft, you can ask the court to award you a sum of money as compensation for your damage.
2. To manage a protective measure by an application to the guardianship judge. For example, you must manage the bank account of a person under guardianship for whom you are responsible.
3. To ask the family affairs judge the introduction or amendment of one or more measures in the context of: a contribution to the costs of marriage, with or without children, a conflict with the other parent in the exercise of parental authority, the restoration of parental authority, residence and rights of access, or a maintenance obligation towards an ascendant or descendant.

How to proceed?

You can access the various online justice procedures as follows (via the application or the website) justice.fr):

• go to the “Online procedures” tab in the top bar;
• choose “Seize Justice Online”;
• select the situation that concerns you: “Become a civil party” / “Applications to the guardianship judge” / “Applications to the family court judge”; then the type of application;
• once the request is selected, you will access the dedicated page with all the necessary information, you will have to enter the place of residence of the person concerned by the procedure.

If you have an ongoing civil case, you will be able to follow the progress of the file online (by accepting electronic transmission beforehand). This can only concern civil affairs :

• go to the “Online procedures” tab in the top bar;
• choose “Follow your business online”.

You will be able to download the attached documents and be informed by email of any update of the file or the availability of documents. You will be notified by SMS of the date of the hearing 3 days before.
