Publié le 07 juillet 2025 - Directorate of Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)

The procedure for logging on to the impots.gouv.fr website, and accessing online services, has been modified. The aim of this measure is to strengthen the protection of your personal and tax data. Service-Public.fr tells you how to connect to your particular space now.

On June 25, 2025, the General Directorate of Public Finance set up a double authentication system for access to your particular space on the impots.gouv.fr website.

When you log in, after entering your tax number and password, you must now enter a 6-digit security code ; this code is yours sent to the email address associated with your account impots.gouv.fr.

When you perform this dual-authentication connection on a device (computer, mobile phone, etc.), the device is recognized as “trusted”. For 6 months, you no longer need to perform the operation Dual authentication to connect, provided you use this “trusted” device with the same web browser. On the other hand, a new code to be filled in is sent to you by email:

  • when using another device;
  • when you connect to your particular space impots.gouv.fr from another web browser;
  • if you delete cookies from the web browser you used for your login.

The Directorate-General for Public Finance states that the implementation of double authentication is a way to strengthen the protection of your personal and tax data, in a context of constantly increasing risks (fake emails, fraudulent calls, etc.).
