Reopening of the MaPrimeRénov' window: what will be the new modalities of the system?

Publié le 11 juin 2025 - Mise à jour le 12 septembre 2025 - Directorate of Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)

The MaPrimeRénov' Renovation application window reopens on September 30, 2025. It had been closed since late June. The modalities of the scheme will not be the same as before, and access to this financial support will initially be restricted. Changes are also planned for the MaPrimeRénov' aid dedicated to the realization of targeted works. Service-Public.fr introduces you to the new rules governing the operation of MaPrimeRénov'.

Add to my calendar

MaPrimeRénov' Renovation allows you, as part of a global renovation, to finance work within your home to gain comfort in summer and winter, and achieve energy savings.

The IT platform on which you can submit a file to benefit from this financial support reopens on September 30. It had been closed since June 23, 2025.

Reminder

To benefit from MaPrimeRénov' Major renovation, you must carry out a set of energy renovation works in your home among the following 6 workstations:

  • thermal insulation of walls;
  • thermal insulation of low floors;
  • thermal insulation of the roof;
  • thermal insulation of exterior joinery;
  • ventilation;
  • production of heating or domestic hot water.

What will be the modalities of MaPrimeRénov' Renovation of scope when the window reopens?

The number of new applications accepted for MaPrimeRénov' Renovation will be limited to 13,000 until the end of 2025.

Initially, from 30 September, only very modest households will be able to submit a file.

Depending on the number of applications submitted, modest households will then be able to access this financial support again.

Furthermore, as of September 30, 2025, regardless of the number of classes won on the DPE, the rate of subsidy for works by the MaPrimeRénov’ scheme (this is the rate of coverage on the amount excluding taxes of works) is:

  • 45% for households with intermediate resources;
  • 10% for households with higher resources.

Until then, in case of a gain of 4 classes on the DPE for example, the subsidy rate reached:

  • 50% for households with intermediate resources (with a ceiling on eligible expenditure of €70,000 excluding taxes);
  • 20% for households with higher incomes (with a ceiling of €70,000 excluding taxes for eligible expenditure under the scheme).

Please note

You can find the scales applied to characterize the level of household resources on our practical sheet MaPrimeRénov' (section “what are the conditions to benefit from MaPrimeRénov' Renovation?”).

As of September 30, you will only be able to benefit from MaPrimeRénov' Rénovation d'amplitude if the housing in question is one of the most energy-intensivein other words, if it is classified E, F or G in respect of the energy performance diagnostics (DPE).

Moreover, the 10% grant bonus will be removed ; this bonus was applied when your home was an energy colander (F or G label at the DPE) and the work allowed to reach at least the D label.

Finally, as of September 30, the the ceiling on eligible expenditure for MaPrimeRénov’ will be lowered. Before the window closed, this ceiling was set at €70,000 of work when your project allowed a gain of 4 classes or more on the DPE; from September 30, the ceiling of eligible expenses will be €30,000 if your project of work allows a gain of 2 classes on the DPE and €40,000 if it allows a gain of 3 classes or more.

The new terms of MaPrimeRénov' Renovation of scope were specified in a decree and 2 decrees published in Official Journal of 9 September 2025.

Please note

All complete and compliant files submitted before the closure of the MaPrimeRénov' Renovation Window are examined on the basis of the rules in force at the time of submission of the dossier.

What developments for MaPrimeRénov' “targeted work”?

The 3 texts published in Official Journal of 9 September 2025 also provide for changes to MaPrimeRénov' Path by gesture, aid dedicated to carrying out targeted work.

From 1er January 2026, the insulation of the walls in facade or gable, as well as the installation of biomass boilers with manual or automatic supply, will no longer be part of the work eligible for MaPrimeRénov' Gestural route.

Furthermore, the obligation in metropolitan France to have an energy performance diagnosis or an energy audit of the dwelling carried out before carrying out the work is postponed to 1er January 2027. It was originally to enter into force on 1er January 2026. This obligation does not apply to housing located in the French Overseas Territories.

Finally, since May 2024, you can benefit from MaPrimeRénov' Parcours par gesture to carry out simple work called single-gesture (one single energy renovation operation at a time) without being forced to settle at the same time a decarbonized heating system or domestic hot water.

This provision was to expire on December 31, 2025. It is finally extended until December 31, 2026. So it's only from 1er January 2027 that you will have to change your heating equipment or domestic hot water production to access this route of MaPrimeRénov'.

FYI

Currently, you can benefit from MaPrimeRénov' Gesture by gesture for work within a detached house classified “F” or “G” on the DPE. This option was originally scheduled to expire on December 31, 2025. Finally, it is extended until December 31, 2026.
