MaPrimeRénov': the modalities of the device will soon evolve

MaPrimeRénov' is a State aid divided into 2 main routes:

• MaPrimeRénov' Journey by gesture, if you wish to carry out one or more insulation, ventilation, heating, etc. works;
• MaPrimeRénov' Accompanied tour, if you have a major renovation project.

These devices are accessible to owners, whether they live in the housing concerned by the energy renovation or they offer it for rent.

From 1^er September 2026, MaPrimeRénov' support for a major renovation can no longer be assigned if gas heating is retained after the work. This evolution of the MaPrimeRénov' system, which concerns renovation work carried out in individual houses, is part of the Government's electrification plan.

The document states that this measure will “prioritize the most virtuous projects to get out of fossil fuels”; it also states that it “aims to avoid financing renovations that perpetuate households' dependence on gas, and thus expose them to future variations in gas prices”.

What are the terms of MaPrimeRénov' Renovation in 2026?

To benefit from MaPrimeRénov' Renovation, your home must:

• be located in metropolitan France (this system is not accessible in the French Overseas Territories);
• be classified E, F or G on Energy Performance Diagnostics (EPD), before work (i.e. to be considered as a ‘heat strainer’);
• be built for at least 15 years;
• be occupied as a principal residence for at least 8 months per year.

As part of MaprimeRénov' Renovation of scope, your project of work must allow a gain of at least 2 classes on the DPE (for example, go from F to D).

You must carry out a set of energy renovation works in your home among the following 6 workstations:

• thermal insulation of walls;
• thermal insulation of low floors;
• thermal insulation of the roof;
• thermal insulation of exterior joinery;
• ventilation;
• production of heating or domestic hot water.

Your project must include at least 2 thermal insulation actions (roof, window/carpentry, floors or walls).

How to obtain financial support MaPrimeRénov' Rénovation d'amplitude?

For major energy renovations, a personalized appointment with an advisor France Rénov' is mandatory before the submission of an aid application.

The appointment with a France Rénov' advisor should be an opportunity:

• take stock of your situation;
• discuss possible work;
• to know the various financial aids available;
• to be oriented towards different actors belonging to the housing sector present near you (a Rénov' guide, RGE artisans, etc.).

Then, to obtain financial support from MaPrimeRénov', you must submit your application with the help of your Rénov' guide on the website monprojet.anah.gouv.fr with the required documents (you must indicate your marital status, the date of birth of the members of your household, your email address, the name of your Rénov' companion, the amount of other aid and subsidies received for this work, transmit the estimate of the RGE professional you have chosen, etc.).

It is recommended that you do not carry out your work until you have obtained the agreement of the National Housing Agency for funding your work via MaPrimeRénov'.

When the work is completed, you must deposit your invoice in your online space MaPrimeRénov' and request payment of the premium.

The grant is paid to you in one installment by bank transfer.

What are the modalities of MaPrimeRénov' Gesture by Gesture in 2026?

In order to benefit from MaPrimeRénov' Gesture by gesture, your accommodation must be:

• built for at least 15 years (this period is reduced to 2 years in the French Overseas Territories);
• and occupied as a principal residence for at least 8 months per year.

MaPrimeRénov' Gesture by gesture allows you to finance some thermal insulation work or the installation of a decarbonized domestic heating or hot water system. You can also benefit from financial assistance for ventilation work, but on condition that thermal insulation work is also carried out.

The insulation of walls in facade or gable, as well as the installation of biomass boilers with manual or automatic supply, are no longer part of the work eligible for MaPrimeRénov' Parcours par geste.

How to get financial support MaPrimeRénov' Journey by gesture?

To get help, you need to:

• choose an RGE professional (recognized as an environmental guarantor), after having contacted several of them in order to compare their quotation;
• submit your request on the website maprimerenov.gouv.fr with the required documents (you must indicate your marital status, the date of birth of the members of your household, your email address, the amount of other aid and subsidies received for this work, transmit the estimate of the professional RGE that you have chosen, etc.).

Once you have obtained the agreement of the National Housing Agency (Anah) for the financing of your work via MaPrimeRénov', you can carry out the planned work with the selected professional.

When the work is completed, you must deposit your invoice in your online space MaPrimeRénov' and request payment of the premium.

The grant is paid to you in one installment by bank transfer.
