To apply for Crous housing (Center régional des oeuvres universitaires et scolaires), you must have completed a student social record (DSE) and ticked the housing application box. As a reminder, the student social file had to be submitted by May 31, 2026.

The request for a Crous accommodation takes place in 2 phases, via the platform trouvunlogement.lescrous.fr :

  • Main phase from May 5 to June 29 (intended primarily for fellows, phase not open to international students).
  • Complementary phase from 7 July (open to all students, fellows and non-fellows, national and international).

Main Phase

During this phase, the selection criteria are the same as for the calculation of the scholarship: income of the student and his parents, the family composition and geographical distance from the family home. Applications are met in the ranking order linked to the social index, according to the applications and the reception capacities of the residences.

This phase now includes 3 assignment cycles and you can issue up to 10 wishes per cycle, in the same city or in different cities. After each turn, you can change your wishes to better adjust them according to your orientation results. You must re-validate your wish list to participate in the next round.

    Confirmation of reservations: from 2 june at 6 pm to 7 june at 11:59 pm

FYI

You are notified by sms and email of the allocation of a housing. Don't forget to check the email address you mentioned in messervices.etudiant.gouv.fr. If you are assigned a dwelling, you a period of 5 days to confirm your choice.

What do you need to do once you've been assigned a Crous home?

  1. To validate your admission in residence, you must pay an advance on rent of 70 € (at the end of the award cycle for main stage admissions). This advance will be deducted from your first rent. If you receive several housing proposals but are not yet sure of your final place of study, you can confirm several proposals (by paying the advance for each). Once set, you can ask Crous to cancel excess bookings and be refunded the overpayment.
  2. You will need to complete a rental file online including:
    • the signed rules and regulations;
    • the contract of joint and several guarantee that will have been provided to you, duly completed and signed by the third party acting as guarantor or the guarantee certificate of the body acting as guarantor (example: the Visale guarantee);
    • the payment of the security deposit corresponding to one month's rent;
    • the certificate of insurance against rental risks (fire, water damage, civil liability).

At the entrance to the residence, you will be asked:

  • the payment of the first rent (less the advance paid);
  • the student card or certificate of registration for the academic year for which the accommodation was obtained.

Warning

In high-tension areas, students are advised to choose residences a little further from city centers and university campuses, or residences with high housing capacity. You will need to rank your requests in order of preference. When allocating dwellings, equal index, this order will be taken into account.
