How do I get help if I have trouble completing my tax return?

Contact the tax department

By telephone

You can contact your personal income tax office, the number of which is indicated on your tax notice.

You can also call the toll-free number 0 809 401 401 available from monday to friday between 8:30 am and 7 pm.

By secure messaging

You can also use secure messaging by logging into your Special area of the site impots.gouv.fr, by clicking on "Secure Messaging" at the top right of the page. You can ask your question to a tax official.

To find the relevant department, go to the website or mobile tax application, section Contact and appointment.

Make an appointment with a tax authority officer

If you are unsure, have a significant change in your 2024 situation or have a problem completing your tax return, you can make an appointment with a Public Finance Officer. In this case, connect to your Private Space on the website impots.gouv.fr, click on the topic “Contacts and appointment” at the top right of the page and then click on “Make an appointment”.

You can choose between an appointment by telephone, videoconference or on site, at the counter, and choose the available slot. To complete your application, you will need to provide your first and last name, tax number, telephone number and email address. You can also change or cancel your appointment if you are prevented from doing so. One map allows you to find Public Finance's welcome points.

You can find the DGFiP agents in the spaces France Services but also during appointments or permanent meetings in town hall, or by videoconference. They will be able to answer all your questions by having access to your file. France Services also offers support and guides you in your online activities, according to your level of autonomy.

Please note that no paper declaration can be received in France Services.
