Health check
Massage physiotherapists can now carry out your prevention assessment
Publié le 05 octobre 2026 - Public Service / (Prime Minister)
Since 1er in october 2026, physiotherapists can carry out My Prevention Check-up appointments in the same way as doctors, nurses, pharmacists and midwives. The balance sheet is 100% covered by the Health Insurance, without advance charges.

Who can benefit from the My Prevention Assessment program?
These free prevention appointments, deployed throughout France since 2024, are intended for people affiliated to the Health Insurance belonging to one of these 4 age groups:
- 18-25 years;
- 45-50 years;
- 60-65 years;
- 70-75 years.
After doctors, nurses, pharmacists and midwives, massage therapists strengthen the network of professionals who can carry out these assessments. During this appointment, you can benefit from a personalized interview about your health.
The healthcare professional will talk to you about various topics: physical activity, diet, sleep, addictions, vaccination, screenings and mental health.
At the end of the appointment, a personalized prevention plan can be developed with the healthcare professional.
The arrival of massage therapists in the device should strengthen access to prevention through their expertise in physical activity, musculoskeletal health and prevention of loss of autonomy.
Please note
If you already know the health professional, you can make an appointment according to the usual modalities by specifying that it is a preventive assessment, because the duration of the assessment is longer than a conventional consultation. A list of these health professionals is available in the directory of sante.fr.
Why carry out a prevention assessment?
This appointment allows you to discuss with a health professional on several points concerning your health:
- your personal and family medical history;
- your diet and physical activity;
- your possible use of tobacco, alcohol or other substances;
- your sleep;
- your mental health and social well-being;
- your sexual health;
- your vaccinations;
- screenings adapted to your age and situation;
- risk factors for chronic diseases (cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancers, etc.).
How does the assessment work?
Make an appointment with the healthcare professional you have chosen.
Before the appointment, you must fill in a self-questionnaire corresponding to your age group. This document is available by logging into My health space. Its filling is not mandatory but facilitates exchanges during the appointment.
You will need to bring this questionnaire during the prevention appointment as well as documents concerning your health (last blood test, vaccination record, possible results).
The assessment takes place in 3 stages (allow a maximum of 30 to 45 minutes):
- Identifying individual risks (notably through the self-questionnaire).
- Joint prioritization of one or two topics prevention concerning you, following a decision shared between you and the healthcare professional.
- Drafting a personalized prevention plan (PPP), drafted jointly with the healthcare professional. This PPP indicates: the priority objectives for your health, the obstacles related to the conduct of lifestyle change, concrete actions to be implemented, resources and stakeholders that the patient can consult (doctors, sports associations, etc.)
Please note
Prevention assessments are 100% covered by the Health Insurance for all insured persons, at no cost to advance.
The prevention assessment can only be carried out once per person and per age group.
