Already offered to women of the same age since 2025, a kit for STI screening at home, 100% covered by the Health Insurance, is now offered to men aged 18 to 25 as well as transgender and non-binary people of this age group.

The kit can be used to detect 2 infections :

How to use the STI screening kit at home?

To carry out this screening, simply order the kit on the site: mon-test-ist.ameli.fr. After an eligibility questionnaire (age, sexual activity, social security number)...), the kit is sent within about 7 days (excluding weekends and public holidays), in a neutral envelope, at the address chosen.

The sampling must be carried out by self-sampling:

  • urinary for men;
  • vaginal for women;
  • depending on the situation for transgender people.

The sample is then returned to the laboratory using the envelope provided.

The results are available on average within 5 days on the site mesanalyses.fr. An SMS notification informs of their availability. In case of a positive result, a medical consultation is necessary with a health professional (doctor, midwife), in a hospital structure or in a free information, screening and diagnosis center (CeGIDD).

Warning

The test should not be carried out in case of high heat (temperature above 33 °C).

Simplified access to screening

The « My IST test » device also allows over-the-counter, walk-in testing for several STIs (HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, hepatitis B). For those under 26, 100% of the treatment is provided. For the 26 years and older, HIV testing is free of charge and 60% of other tests are reimbursed.

You can consult the list of laboratories.
