Repaid reusable sanitary pads for under-26s

The Law on the Financing of Social Security (LFSS) for the year 2024, of 26 December 2023, provides for the free use of reusable sanitary protection, subject to conditions. It was published in the Official Journal December 27, 2023.

Young people under the age of 26 and beneficiaries of supplementary health protection (C2S) will be able to benefit from the free reusable periodic protection. That's about 6.7 million people.

To benefit from free reusable periodic protection, you will have to go to a pharmacy. 100% coverage for C2S beneficiaries. It is 60% for people under the age of 26. The remaining 40% are in the majority of cases compensated by complementary organisms.

Only reusable periodic guards are eligible. A list of reusable protection products will be specified shortly: the products will have to comply with quality standards aimed at ensuring their non-toxicity to health and the environment.

This measure is in addition to other provisions already in place or foreseen in the Social Security Funding Act 2024 to prevent youth health.

In addition to the support of reusable periodic protection, the LFSS 2024 has free male and female condoms for under 26s, in pharmacies and without prescription. This was already possible for male condoms: since the 1st^er January 2023, condoms with the “Eden” and “Get out covered!” brands are 100% covered by Health Insurance.
