Report receipt of a fraudulent message (hacking of a contact's email) - THESEE (Online Service)
The signaling through this online service can be used by any individual (major or minor), regardless of nationality.
You don't have to give your identity. You only need to provide an email address.
What is email hacking?
Hacking an e-mail account is a infringement. This includes a malicious individual taking control of a person's e-mail for the purpose of sending spam or fraudulent emails to all his contacts.
Under what conditions is it possible to report on THESEE?
You can report from this online service if you have received a demand for money from a correspondent whose email has been hacked.
Your report is taken into account by THESEE's investigation services whenever a request for money is made. It is not necessary for a payment and/or a collection to have taken place.
FYI
If you are an adult, you can also file a complaint on THESEE.
For minors, the complaint must be lodged by their legal representatives (e.g. parents).
What are the consequences of such a report?
Reporting is not a complaint. It consists solely in informing the investigation services of the offense and to provide them with information to identify the perpetrator.
If you report a fraudulent message received from a hacked email, you will not be kept informed of the outcome of your report.
FYI
If you have already filed a complaint with a police station or a gendarmerie brigade, you can also make a report on THESEE.
