Application - Judicial declaration of death (after disappearance)

Form only in French.

Allows you to request a judicial declaration of death.

To be presented to public prosecutor of the court of justice where a relative has disappeared in circumstances that cast doubt on his or her survival.

You must submit the request or send it (by post RAR: titleContent(a) the prosecutor of the court of one of the following places:

  • Place of death or disappearance if it occurred on French territory
  • Home or last residence of the disappeared if the disappearance took place abroad
  • Home port of the airplane or vessel carrying the person in the event of an air or sea disaster
  • Paris, for lack of any other place.
