Daily support allowance for a person at the end of life

The daily support allowance for a person at the end of life (AJAP) is paid to the employee who is on family solidarity leave. A self-employed person or a jobseeker may also receive the AJAP. The conditions for payment of the allowance vary according to the applicant's situation. We present you the information to know.
What applies to you ?
Employee
The employee may receive the daily support allowance for a person at the end of life:
- if it benefits from a family solidarity leave
- or if he has converted his family solidarity leave into part-time work.
Support for the person at the end of life must be provided at home (not in the hospital). For example, it may be one of the following places:
- Home of the accompanied person
- Home of accompanying person or third person
- Retirement home
- Accommodation facility for dependent elderly people (Ehpad).
Several accompanying persons may share the allowance if they accompany the same person (at the same time or successively).
The conditions for applying for the daily support allowance for a person at the end of life vary depending on whether the application concerns one or more accompanying persons.

Several accompanying persons
The applicant must complete the following documents:
- Attestation completed by the employer, stating that the employee is on family solidarity leave (or has converted it into part-time work)
- Application on free paper indicating the identity of the other applicants, their registration number and the distribution of the number of allowances requested by each of them
- Application form for a daily home support allowance for a person at the end of life.

The silence maintained by the Canajap for more than 7 days from the date on which it receives the request is deemed to be an agreement.
The amount of the allowance shall be €64.92 per day.
It is fixed at €32.46 if the employee has converted his family solidarity leave into part-time work.
The allowance is paid to the employee from the date of receipt of the application by the CNAJAP, provided that the conditions are met on that date.
The allowance is paid on a daily basis, up to a maximum of 21 days (or 42 days in case of reduction of part-time work), workable or not.
Payment of the allowance is maintained when the person accompanied at home must be hospitalized.
Several accompanying persons may receive the allowance if they accompany the same person, concomitantly or successively, within the limit of the authorized daily payments.
Example :
For example, one person can claim 10 days of benefits and another can claim the remaining 11 days of benefits.
The accompanying person may not simultaneously receive the following benefits (where entitled):
- Compensation for maternity, paternity or adoption leave
- Interruption allowance or replacement allowance for maternity or paternity
- Compensation for sick leave or {circumflex over (but may be accumulated if the compensation is received for part-time work)
- Shared child-rearing benefit (PreParE).
The allowance is no longer paid at the end of the authorized daily payments. It is also no longer paid from the day following the death of the accompanied person.
Self-employed
The self-employed may receive the daily support allowance for a person at the end of life if he has suspended or reduced his professional activity.
Support for the person at the end of life must be provided at home (not in the hospital). These may include, for example:
- the domicile of the accompanied person,
- the domicile of the accompanying person or of a third person,
- a retirement home,
- an accommodation facility for dependent elderly people (Ehpad).
Several accompanying persons may share the allowance if they accompany the same person (at the same time or successively).
The conditions for applying for the daily support allowance for a person at the end of life vary depending on whether the application concerns one or more accompanying persons.
