What is Return and Reintegration Assistance?

If you are a foreigner in an irregular situation and that you are the subject of a obligation to leave French territory (OQTF), you can ask, under certain conditions, thesupport for return and reintegration of theOfii: titleContent to return to your country of origin.

Warning  

Mayotte is subject to certain special conditions. They are not not processed in this record.

You may be granted return and/or reintegration assistance if you leave France to return to your country.

You must obligatorily return in your country of origin. You can't go to another country.

The return must be voluntary.

Return assistance

The return aid shall include the following elements:

  • Administrative and material assistance in preparing the journey to the country of return
  • Coverage of transport costs from the place of departure in France until arrival in the country of return
  • Incentive lump sum allowance, paid in a single installment and degressive according to the period elapsed between the notification by the OQTF and the date of validation of the aid application submitted to theOfii: titleContent
  • Supplementary lump-sum allowance of €150 when you have a travel document or if you take care of obtaining it, exceptionally.

In some cases, an increased lump sum allowance may be granted.

Reintegration assistance

Reintegration assistance may be granted to you under certain conditions in addition to or independently of return assistance.

It may include the following:

  • Support for social reintegration
  • Reintegration assistance through employment, possibly with vocational training, subject to a viable professional or economic project.
  • Reintegration support through company-building after a situation assessment and selection of economically viable reintegration projects, possibly with vocational training.

Depending on your case and your nationality, you can benefit from certain aids. You must prove that you have been living in France for at least 3 consecutive months.

If you are nationals ofvisa-free third countries for France, your rights are different.

General case

Return aid and reintegration aid are paid abroad in an irregular situation on French territory:

  • If he is the subject of a decision requiring him to leave French territory (OQTF) at the time of his departure
  • Or if the country of origin of the foreigner has signed, before 5 December 2025, an intergovernmental agreement with France providing for a mechanism to assist reintegration in the country of origin.

You are a national of the European Union, Switzerland, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, Vatican

You are not eligible for this aid.

You are a visa-exempt third-country national from Belarus or Kosovo

You cannot benefit from reintegration aid if the obligation to leave French territory has been notified more than 4 months before the date of validation of the aid application.

You cannot benefit from the lump-sum incentive allowance or reintegration aid if the obligation to leave French territory is not accompanied by a ban on returning to French territory (FTIR) and if the applicant cannot prove residence in France for at least 3 consecutive months.

The aid is granted only once. If you have already received this assistance, you cannot apply for it again.

To apply for return assistance, you must present your project to an EU advisorOfii: titleContent.

Who shall I contact

Amount of the lump sum incentive allowance

The amount of the financial incentive allowance depends on several factors:

  • Country of origin
  • Number of people leaving France in the same family
  • Elapsed time between notification of the OQTF and the date of validation of the request for assistance made to theOfii: titleContent (phases 1, 2 and 3 in the following table).

Some countries are exempt from visa requirements to enter France.

Please note

A derogating scheme increases the maximum amount of this incentive lump sum allowance to €2,200 , without modulation linked to the length of the removal order, in the following cases:

  • Migrants of certain nationalities, whose list must be defined by the Ministry of the Interior, who have reached the United Kingdom illegally and who have been the subject of an OQTF taken by the prefect of Nord, Pas-de-Calais, Somme, Oise or Seine-Maritime and whose request for voluntary return is validated by theOfii: titleContent of Lille
  • Adult foreigners nationals readmitted to application in France of the decree of 11 August 2025 on the prevention of dangerous crossings.

Amount of the increased incentive lump sum allowance

The Ofii may decide, after request by the prefect of the department, to grant an amount increased by the flat-rate allowance for nationals of one or more nationalities or for categories defined according to their administrative situation.

The amount of the increased financial incentive allowance depends on several factors:

  • Country of origin
  • Number of people leaving France in the same family
  • The time elapsed between the notification of the OQTF and the validation date of the aid application submitted to the Ofii (phases 1, 2 and 3 in the following table).
