Can the score obtained on a national education or higher education examination be challenged?
Verified 20 October 2025 - Directorate of Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)
Yes. If you are unhappy with the score obtained on a National Education or Higher Education exam, you can ask to consult your copy and make a claim.
To view your copy, you (or your legal representative if you are a minor) must make the request in writing to the examination center. The contact details are usually indicated on your summons.
FYI
For oral tests, you can request a review of your scorecard.
You can consult your copy on site, without being able to win.
You will be able to verify that there was no hardware error such as, for example, a point count error or a transcription of the note between the copy and the transcript.
By contrast, you cannot claim a second correction of your copy, even if the score obtained on the exam is very different from those obtained during your schooling or training. Indeed, the examining board does not have to justify its decision, because it is sovereign.
You can request to view your copy during a 1 year delay from the publication of the results. Copies are destroyed after this time limit.
FYI
Private training and higher education centers may refuse your application if the relevant diploma is not recognized by the State.
You can challenge the rating to the authority that assigned it to you (rectorate for example). It's a ex gratia. You can do this if you notice a material error, a problem in the course of the test or in the attitude of the examiner.
You must appeal within a period of 2 months following the date of notification of the note.
