Can the employee take paid leave directly after sick leave?
Verified 19 May 2026 - Public Service / (Prime Minister)
Yes, the employee may take paid leave directly following a period of illness of non-occupational or occupational origin.
The employee does not have to resume his professional activity one day after his work stoppage to go on leave.
However, it must respect the leave dates set by his employer before his work stoppage.
Reminder
If the work stoppage ends the day before the scheduled date of departure on paid leave, the employee can then take his leave directly.
