You can now use France Identité when traveling by plane

Before boarding a plane, and when you drop off your checked baggage, you must present a valid boarding pass and a document attesting to your identity. Since June 24, you can use your digital identity card, present in the France Identité application, to attest to your identity.

The use of your digital identity France Identité, in this context, is possible at all french airports, whatever the destination of your flight.

However, you cannot use your France Identité digital identity at foreigners airports. Furthermore, the use of your digital identity is not possible during identity checks carried out at border crossings.

How do I use France Identité when boarding and depositing checked baggage?

To attest your identity via your digital ID card, you must:

1. open your France Identité application;
2. click on your « digital identity » card, present on the home page of the application (your digital identity card then appears in full screen in a vertical format, with your photo and your name and surname);
3. present your digital identity card to the employee of the air transport company.

The digital identity card, which can now be presented when boarding and when depositing checked baggage.

It is recommended to check, before your arrival at the airport, that your France Identity application is up to date; if you are obliged to update it just before presenting your digital identity card at the airport, this will lengthen the duration of the identity attestation procedure.
