Launch of the National Displacement Survey 

In order to measure the mobility trends of the French, the Statistical Data and Studies Service (SDES) of the Ministry of Transport and Ecological Transition launches the new edition of the survey "Mobility of people" (EMP), of 1^er April 2026 to March 31, 2027. Conducted every 10 years, this reference survey analyses the mobility practices of French people in cities, suburbs and the countryside in order to better prepare the infrastructure of tomorrow.

Approximately 45,000 people residing in France (excluding DROM) were selected to establish a representative sample of the population. They receive initially an official letter notice by post to warn them. Starting in April, they are contacted by telephone by an Ipsos BVA investigator for an interview lasting an average of 45 minutes.
