The dates of the 2027 presidential election are announced

The dates for the 2027 presidential election have been set by the Government. The Council of Ministers of 1er July 2026 ruled on the dates of the 2027 presidential election. Voters will be called to the polls in April and May 2027, according to a schedule in accordance with the constitutional rules governing the organization of the election.

The election of the President of the Republic will take place:

  • Sunday 18 April 2027 for the first round;
  • Sunday, May 2, 2027 for the second round.

Nevertheless, in Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Martin and French Polynesia, voters will vote on Saturday, April 17 and 1er May to account for jet lag.
