The Christmas bonus is an exceptional aid granted to certain beneficiaries of social minima (active solidarity income, specific solidarity allowance, equivalent retirement allowance). This year, it will be paid to these modest households as of December 16, without them having to take any action.

The Christmas bonus is a State aid paid by the Family Allowance Fund (Caf), the Mutualité sociale agricole (MSA) and France Travail. It affects more than 2 million low-income households.

Its payment is automatic after verification of eligibility; you don't need to ask for it.

Who can collect the Christmas bonus?

To qualify for this year's Christmas bonus, you must have received one of the following benefits in November 2025 and/or December 2025:

The premium shall be paid from:

  • of 16 December 2025, for persons who benefited from the RSA, the SSA or the EAR in November 2025;
  • of January 2026, for persons who received such aid from December 2025.

What is the amount of the Christmas bonus?

The amount of the Christmas bonus differs depending on the allowance you are receiving.

Beneficiaries of RSA

The amount depends on your family composition. The premium is paid automatically by your Caf or MSA, depending on the plan you depend on.

Beneficiaries of the SSA or EAR

The amount is fixed and amounts to €152.45. The bonus is paid to you by France Travail, without any steps to take.

FYI  

The Christmas bonus is not taxable, so it should not be mentioned on your annual tax return.

Warning  

If you live in MayotteHowever, the amount of the Christmas bonus is different. In Mayotte, as a beneficiary of the ASS or the AER, the amount of your premium is € 76.23.

For example, if you are a single person with a dependent child, your premium is €114.35 and if you are part of a household with 3 dependent children, it is €182.95. You can find all the amounts of the Christmas bonus in Mayotte on the website of the Family Allowance Fund.
