Certificate of Competence for the duties of facilitator (Bafa)

The Bafa: titleContent is a diploma non-professional.

It allows you tomentoring children and adolescents, occasionally, in colonies or holiday centers, recreation centers (we speak ofcollective reception of minors).

The training at the Bafa aims to prepare you to perform the following functions:

• Ensuring the physical and moral security of minors
• Participate in the reception, communication and development of relations between the different actors
• Participate, within a team, in the implementation of an educational project in coherence with the educational project
• Supervise and animate daily life and activities
• Support minors in the realization of their projects.

It also aims to help you develop your skills, including:

• Build a quality relationship with members of the teaching team and minors and ensure that discrimination is prevented
• To transmit and share the values of the Republic (for example, secularism).

To take the training at Bafa: titleContent, you must have at least 16 years on 1^er day of the training session (general).

Administrative registration is allowed 3 months before.

Training is fee-paying.

It varies according to the training organization.

Several types of aid exist, in particular those offered by family allowance funds (Caf or, if you depend on the agricultural scheme, MSA: titleContent).

Other organizations may help you finance your training:

• Town hall
• France Work if you are a jobseeker
• Departmental Council or Regional Council.

• Registration for a complementary qualification sailing, canoeing, motorcycle leisure activities or swimming monitoring (if you already hold the Bafa)

• Renewal of your Bafa "swimming monitoring" qualification (every 5 years).

To access the service, you must use one of the following means:

• Identification via FranceConnect
• Creation of a Candidate account and login with your credentials (email and password).

To obtain the Bafa diploma, you must follow 2 theoretical training sessions and 1 practical internship which must take place in the following order:

1. Session of general training, which allows you to acquire the basics to ensure the animation functions (8 days minimum)
2. Practical internship in a holiday stay, a scouting welcome or a leisure welcome that allows you to implement the acquired and experimentation (14 days minimum)
3. Session ofdeepening (6 days minimum­mum) or qualification (8 days minimum) that allows you to deepen, complete, analyze your learning outcomes and training needs.

The total duration of the training is limited to 30 months.

Beyond this period, you lose the benefit of the steps already taken.

At the end of the cycle, the 3 steps validated by the session directors are examined by the Bafa jury of the regional academic delegation for youth, commitment and sports (DRAJES).

This jury grants you the diploma or not.

The patent is awarded by the rector of the academic region of your residence.

The Bafa has a validity period unlimited.

The functions of animation can be exercised, under conditions, by the holders of certain diplomas whose list is fixed by decree (for example the diplomas issued by the French Scouting Federation).

You can pass the certificate of competency as director (BAFD).

You can also add a qualifying session (sailing, canoeing, motorcycling leisure activities, swimming monitoring).

You can also engage in a vocational training in order to specialize in an activity (climbing, mountain biking...).)

No duplicate of Bafa is issued in case of loss.
