Pension reform: Prime Minister's announcements

During a press conference, the Prime Minister, the ministers responsible for the economy, labor and the civil service have detailed the content of the pension reform which will be debated in Parliament in February for implementation from 1^er September 2023. The draft law on the financing of social security, which will amend the reform, will be presented to the Council of Ministers on 23 January.

Measures for the general scheme

The Government intends to carry thestatutory retirement age 64 years from 2030 (compared to 62 years currently). As of 1^er September 2023, the legal age will be raised by one quarter each year to reach 64 years in 2030 (read more).
