Presidential 2022: 48.7 million registered voters

95% of French citizens of voting age in the presidential election are registered to vote with 48.7 million registered as of March 9, 2022 (the deadline for registration was March 4). These figures come from the single electoral register established since 1er January 2019.

Voter registration has accelerated since the 1ster  January 2022 with 2.8 million registrations (including 1.6 million online) according to the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE).

Published on March 24, 2022, this study by INSEE on the number of French voters registered on the electoral lists before the April 2022 presidential election is based on the single electoral repertoire that replaced the juxtaposition of the 35,500 electoral lists held previously by each commune (read more about Vie-publique.fr).
